Cabinet Painters in Crystal Lake, IL

Paint Your Outdated Cabinets

Are you tired of the natural wood color of your kitchen cabinets? Paint them! Hiring an experienced cabinet painter has many advantages. For one, our cabinet spray painting service will save you a lot of money in remodeling costs, and secondly, the visual impact from a new color will be a dramatic upgrade. Your friends and neighbors will be jealous of your new kitchen.

Painted cabinets also reflect more light and make a dark kitchen look and feel brighter and more spacious. We have many different shades of white and other paint colors to choose from. We can replace old door pulls with a modern style to put the final touch on your kitchen design. Black pulls, or brushed nickel, are popular colors that pair nicely with white paint.

Experienced Cabinet Painters

Prepping and painting kitchen cabinets is a tedious process that requires extensive surface preparation and expertise in order for the paint job to last and look professional. Using the right primer and paint is critical for durability, which is why it’s important to hire an experienced cabinet painter who specializes in this niche service.

Most general house painters have limited experience painting cabinets and use the wrong materials , or skip important steps that impact durability. We spray paint cabinets year round and have the skills and expertise needed to paint your cabinets correctly and with awesome results.

Our Cabinet Painting Process

We make our process stress-free with minimal disruption to your household. In fact, most of the work is done off-site. On day one, your cabinet doors and drawers are detached from the frames and transported to our work space where we prep and spray them. This part of the job usually takes one week, but this depends on the size of your kitchen. Your kitchen will be fully functional during this time.

When your doors and drawers are done, we return to your home to prep and paint the cabinet frames, clean up and put your brand new kitchen back together. This final part of the job usually takes only 4 to 6 days to complete. Painted doors are carefully wrapped for transport back to your home.

How We Prep Your Cabinets for Painting

Our process for cabinet painting prep involves de-greasing, grain filling (oak cabinets) sanding and priming. The mistake a lot of painters make is skipping important steps or using the wrong primer and materials for the job. This ends up causing all sorts of problems later when you wipe down your cabinets and the paint rubs off.

Our preparation and painting is done the right way from beginning to end. Before we spray paint your kitchen cabinets, we carefully scrub them with de-greaser to maximize paint adhesion. Next we repair wood damage, apply grain filler if needed and completely sand the surface. We spray two coats of high quality cabinet primer. Our primer forms a strong surface bond and blocks wood tannin.

How We Spray Paint Your Cabinets

We transport your cabinets to our work space where we spray paint  with a factory-smooth finish that looks superior to the brushed and rolled look. Some painters will brush and roll all of your cabinetry, or spray your doors, but not the frames. The end result of that is having cabinet frames with a paint finish noticeably different than the sprayed finish on the doors.

We spray paint your cabinet doors and your frames so the finish quality is exactly the same for everything. This means your freshly painted cabinets will look like they came directly from a factory instead of looking like someone painted them with a brush. We also use materials that dry really fast, so we can usually spray your frames in one day and clean up.
